Authenticity & Certification

Understand the piece. Review the evidence.

Choosing Rudraksha or a gemstone deserves thoughtful attention to the individual product and its supporting information. This guide explains how to review descriptions, photographs, and laboratory reports before making your decision.

Start with the individual listing

Read the specifications for the exact item you are considering. Check its stated identity, dimensions, weight where applicable, and any origin or treatment information. Confirm whether the images show the individual piece or a representative example, and review what is included with your purchase.

When a certificate or report is listed

Check the product description to understand whether a report is included and what it covers. Do not assume that every product has the same documentation or has undergone the same tests.

How to review a report

  1. Identify the issuing laboratory or organisation and the report number.
  2. Compare the report's description, measurements, weight, and photograph, where present, with the item offered.
  3. Read the findings and any comments, limitations, or treatment disclosures.
  4. If the issuer provides an official verification service, check the report details there. An online record supports verification of the report but does not by itself establish that a physical item matches it.
  5. Ask for clarification before ordering if any detail is missing or inconsistent.

For Rudraksha

Review the stated Mukhi count, measurements, condition, and any examination findings recorded in the accompanying documentation. Natural grooves, shape, and surface texture can vary. Colour, appearance, floating or sinking, and other simple home tests should not be treated as conclusive proof of authenticity.

For gemstones

Review the stated gemstone identity and whether the material is natural, laboratory-grown, or an imitation. Read any treatment findings carefully. Geographic origin, identification, and valuation are different subjects; a report may address some without addressing all of them.

What documentation does not establish

A report should be understood within the scope of the examination it describes. It is not a guarantee of health benefits, spiritual effects, astrological results, future value, or investment returns. Traditional associations are matters of belief rather than laboratory findings.

Questions before purchase

If you would like clarification, share the product name and the detail you want to understand when contacting GemRishi. Useful questions include whether documentation is included, who issued it, what was examined, and whether the photographs represent the exact item offered.
